Local knowledge

A wedding photographer who knows Wairarapa.

Capturing stunning moments across the Wairarapa, from rustic vineyard weddings to coastal celebrations in Masterton and beyond. I’m Wellington-based and travel to Wairarapa regularly, with fifteen years behind the lens and a documentary, unhurried way of working that lets the real day come through. You can see exactly what my wedding photography covers, and find collections and add-ons on the pricing page.

The Wairarapa, just over the Remutaka Hill from Wellington, is wine-country wedding territory and one of my favourite regions to shoot. The light here is famously good: long golden evenings over the Tararua Ranges and endless rows of vines that make natural leading lines for portraits.

I regularly photograph at vineyard and country-estate venues across the region, from Poppies Martinborough and Tirohana Estate to Brackenridge Country Retreat and the grand grounds of Wharekauhau Country Estate, as well as smaller settings like Solway Copse near Masterton. Many of these venues offer on-site accommodation, which makes for a relaxed, unhurried day with getting-ready photos and ceremony all in one place. It's about an hour's drive from the city, so a small travel fee may apply, and I'll always confirm that upfront.
